Groups will run from 6:30-8pm on Wednesday July 10, July 17, July 24 and July 31. We will be at Philly Couples and Sex Therapy, located at 1518 Walnut St. Payment is sliding scale, based on income and other factors, from $0-25/session. You and Jess will discuss in the intake call.

YOU! The group will have 3-10 members, plus the group leader. We’ll decide in the first session about whether it’s cool if new people join as we go on!

Groups will run for 90 minutes. There will be time for introductions, an optional craft activity, and discussion inspired by the Lana album of the week. You are encouraged to listen to it before the session. It’s kind of like an emotionally deep book club, except for albums!

We will discuss the impact of Lana’s lyrics, music, persona, aesthetics and political statements on our emotions, reactions, and understanding of ourselves. Our goal is not to uncritically laud Lana, nor do we aim to always agree with each other. Our experiment here is to see if we can speak honestly and respectfully about our own experience and be authentically curious about the experience of others!

We will ground ourselves in a motto of IFS: “All parts are welcome.” That means the cool parts, the smart parts, but also the cringe parts, and the mean parts, too. To keep things safe, we can’t let the rude parts run the show. But if we’re all trying our best to lead with the 8 C’s — courage, compassion, creativity, clarity, connectedness, curiosity, confidence and calm — I think we’ll do alright.
